Restart Windows

Locate the following key in the registry at the following location-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows

Make a modification to the entry C:\WINDOWS\System32\wsaupdater.exe to:

See if the error shows again

C:\WINDOWS\System32\userinit.exe.

• Press Enter
• Restart your system

Step 2 – Copy The LogonUI.exe File To Your PC

The next step is to copy a working version of the LogonUI.exe file from the Windows installation CD to your hard drive. This can be done by following these steps:

Put the XP installation CD into your system

Press the WINDOWS KEY + R on your keyboard

Type “expand D:\i386\logonui.ex_ %windir%\system32\logonui.exe”
